F.U.E.L. (Free Utensils for Expressive Living)

F.U.E.L (Free Utensils for Expressive Living) aims to foster sustainable artistic practices, create access to art-making, and encourage resource sharing by redistributing donations of new and gently-used art materials to our local community. The "F.U.E.L. Station" is located at TRUCK Contemporary Art, and operates on a “take what you need, leave what you can'' basis. Through this project, we are able to ensure all artists and creatively-inclined folks have access to supplies they need to create!

With F.U.E.L, we acknowledge that being an artist can become incredibly expensive, and the struggle for many to afford necessary artistic materials is paramount. This has undoubtedly formed barriers to career opportunities, as so much of a grant or exhibition proposal may hinge on the artist's ability to show their past and current work. We also believe that all people deserve to express themselves through art without barriers, regardless of artistic background or income.

F.U.E.L. was started with support of the Calgary Foundation, and is sustained by generous contributions from our community.
